Why I love Montclair is a place to explore Montclair neighborhoods and celebrate the community that is Montclair.
I am a Montclair resident and mother of two, who has found a home and a community that I love and love talking about. In 2008, after 10 years of living in (Brookly, Manhattan, and Queens) and loving New York City, I moved with my partner (now Wife) and our two dogs to the New Jersey suburbs. We found a sweet little house in Bloomfield and the transition from city life was surprisingly easy. We loved the easy commute to NYC and the close proximity to restaurants, shops, and Brookdale Park. After the birth of our daughter in 2010 I had the opportunity to spend more time getting to know the Montclair/Bloomfield area and I completely fell in love. As a girl who grew up in Texas and spent ten years in New York City, this love definitely took me by surprise. I formed amazing friendships and began taking advantage of all the great food, culture, and community that the Montclair area has to offer. It was at that point that I knew I wanted to work locally and take more of an active role in the community where my children would be growing up. So I did what any suburban housewife would do, I became a Real Estate Agent. But really, in all seriousness, I found another unexpected love (Real Estate) and have never looked back. I have found that my ability to help buyers and sellers in this community has been amazing and rewarding. I love talking about my town and helping others relocate to the suburbs from Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan. Real estate has been the perfect way to integrate family life with my passion for the Montclair area and it’s towns that are brimming with charm, beauty, culture, and nature, while remaining only 15 miles, and less than an hour commute from NYC. Helping my clients find the right community and the perfect home is a true gift and I am so thankful I get to do it in such a unique and interesting area of New Jersey.
In 2013 we decided we were growing out of our Bloomfield home and made the journey (5 miles) to a new home in Montclair. That, coupled with the fact that Montclair is the hub of this area, is why I titled the blog “Why I Love Montclair.
